StarTech's DB9 to DB9 Converter - IC232485S

This 9 pin converter is bi-directional and has one male and one female DB9 port. Because of this, it means industrial users can convert from RS232 to RS485 (2 or 4-wire) or the other way around, providing flexibility depending on your work environment's priorities. It also supports baud rates up to 921.6Kbps.

• This RS-232 serial hub is enclosed in an all-metal black chassis, which is wall-mountable, designed to withstand the harsh industrial environments. Not only that, 15Kv of ESD protection is provided, preventing electrical damage where communication lines are more susceptible to sudden voltage spikes. This makes its reliable performance in no doubt for mission-critical environments.

The built-in LED indicators on this converter show the transmit (Tx) and receive (Rx) status as well as the power for easy monitoring. StarTech's adapter supports auto baud rate detection, meaning you can connect any of the compatible cables and the device receiving data doesn't need to establish data rates beforehand, no matter the operating speed of the transmitting device.

The converter supports automatic mode detection, recognising if RS-485 cable has been connected. The integrated dip switch is there for when users need to select and use manual mode.

A great feature of this RS485 converter is that it supports up to 4000ft of connection distances.
