Product details
RS PRO Heavy Duty Polythene Hand Pump
RS PRO heavy duty manual piston-less polythene displacement pump which discharges on the down stroke.
Supplied complete with anti-drip nozzle, thread adaptor for 12 mm bore hose, multi-adaptor for raised screw neck closures, adaptor to fit standard plastic drum internal thread and telescopic dip-tube to suit any drum from 20L to 210L.
Features and Benefits:
Suitable for oils, antifreeze, degreasers and other non -corrosive fluids
Pump is self-priming and has a displacement of approximately 250 ml per stroke - pump has the ability to use liquid stored in its housing to generate a vacuum on the suction line
Pump is easy to operate
Typical Applications:
Hydraulic hand pumps do not require power and are ideal on manufacturing and processing plants to empty out large barrels into smaller measuring vessels, storage can and canisters. Hydraulic hand pumps are available in a wide range of pump styles and flow rates with varying pressure options tailored to different applications.
FAQs
How Do Hydraulic Hand Pumps Work?
Hydraulic hand pumps contain a reservoir of fluid that is typically activated by a lever. When the lever is pumped downward it generates pressure on the fluid which leads to it being displaced through the outlet. When the lever is pumped up it sucks in water from the inlet, resetting the reservoir for the next activation. Hydraulic hand pumps contain safeguard valves that prevent fluid being sucked back in through the outlet.
What does single acting and double acting refer to in pumps?
Positive displacement pumps differ from centrifugal pumps in that they use mechanical energy to transfer fluid. If the displacement is on the forward stroke only then the pump is single acting. However if the pump displaces liquid on the forward and return stoke then the pump is double acting.
