RS PRO Acrylic Resin Impregnated Braided Fibreglass Cable Sleeving
From RS PRO a high-quality Class F braided fibreglass cable sleeving or cable tubing impregnated with an acrylic resin to create a tough but flexible insulation material that offers highly effective cable protection. This cable sleeving has excellent chemical resistance along with a good temperature resistance and high electrical and mechanical strength. The sleeve is made from halogen-free materials so it wont release toxic gases into the atmosphere when burnt and has excellent compatibility with Class F impregnating resins. This cable sleeve is easy to apply by simply routing your cables and wires through the inside. The flexibility qualities of this sleeving mean it is still able to maintain its electrical properties even after flexing.
What is Braided Sleeving?
Braided sleeving with its flexible and durable design provides an effective and easy to use cable management solution for containing individual cables or bundles of cables. Cable sleeving also offers excellent protection to cables and wires against damage caused by abrasion from sharp edges, high impacts, vibration and mechanical stress. Depending on the material used, braided sleeving also protects the cable or wire from high temperatures, chemicals and solvents.
Features and Benefits
High abrasion and mechanical resistance
Excellent resistance to chemicals including oils, fluids and aggressive chemical agents
Halogen free
1kV dielectric strength
Good temperature resistance
Maintains electrical properties after flexing
Good resistance to fraying when cut
Compatible with most insulating varnishes
Where is Acrylic Impregnated Fibreglass Cable Sleeving Used?
This braided cable sleeve is lightweight and flexible and provides a protective covering and insulation for wires and cables. This sleeving can also be used as a cable management sleeve to keep your wires tidy and in wire harness applications. The unique properties and mechanical strength that this braided sleeve offers make it ideal for protecting electrical cables and terminals from damage in high abrasion applications including motors and transformers, lighting applications and domestic appliances
How Do You Install Braided Cable Sleeving?
Select the cable sleeving diameter you require and cut the sleeve to the correct length, scissors can be used but If the sleeve is not cut correctly it can fray. To prevent fraying use a hot cutting tool such as a hot knife or a soldering iron with a sharp tip. Slice the cable braid using even pressure to leave an evenly sealed edge on the material. Once the sleeve is cut to size simply push and slide the cable sleeving into place over the cable or fittings.
Warning
Dust or broken particles from this fibreglass sleeving can cause irritation to sensitive skin therefore care must be taken to minimise dust formation when handling or cutting
