ADP8861 Smart LED Driver Evaluation Board
Analog Devices’ ADP8861DBCB-EVALZ evaluation board is designed to evaluate the ADP8861 device. The ADP8861 is a smart LED driver with I²C interface. It provides a powerful charge pump driver with independent control of up to seven LEDs.
The ADP8861DBCB-EVALZ board contains seven current sink outputs. These can be software configured to operate as part of the LED backlight or as individual sinks, such as keypad lights. All of the current sink outputs can drive up to 30mA. However the seventh sink (D1B/LED7) can drive up to 60mA. This is ideal for keypad light applications where up to 10 LEDs can be driven in parallel with shunt resistors
Suitable applications include:
- Mobile display backlighting
- Mobile phone keypad backlighting
- Dual RGB backlighting
- LED indication
- General backlighting of small format displays
