Polypropylene Rope
From RS Pro, a robust 3 strand fibre rope made from blue Polypropylene. The high strength Polypropylene rope is primarily designed for securing, towing, and fastening. Available with a variety breaking forces and diameters to suit a multitude of applications. All ropes meet the requirements of BS4928 Part 2
Features and Benefits
Lightweight, making it easy to manoeuvre and store when not in use.
Excellent abrasion resistance, reducing wear and tear.
Does not absorb water, allowing the rope to float.
Resistant to rot mould and marine decay, ideal for use in damp and wet conditions.
Polypropylene is resistant to most acids and alkaline.
UV –stabilised against sunlight, making it ideal for outdoor use.
Applications
Polypropylene rope has many uses in the industrial and non-industrial sectors. Some great examples are;
Fishing industry
With its excellent water resistant and UV stabilised properties, Polypropylene rope is ideal for marine applications. The rope can be used for securing cargo nets or buoys to the side of the boat, or as rope ladders and gangway hand rails.
Roofing and Construction
Polypropylene rope is strong and lightweight. It is often used to secure tarpaulins that cover and protect objects or structures on building sites, roofing, farm yards and delivery vehicles.
Leisure Centres
Polypropylene rope is resistant to water absorption, so it does not swell. This desirable attribute makes the rope especially useful in swimming pool lanes and for securing buoyancy aids.
