Introducing the 3M™ 8902, it's a smooth Blue paper masking tape that has premium quality tape capable of holding, bundling, sealing and non-critical masking applications. This professional tape is mainly used for masking off areas, it can adhere consistently to many surfaces. The translucent blue backing is tear-resistant with a silicone adhesive coating, this tape functions well in masking for powder coating to provide sharp paint lines

The 8902 masking tape is ideal for any job that needs masking which includes stopping paint bleeding to ensure clean paint lines and sharp clean edges. With good chemical resistance, this tape works effectively in chemical processes and demanding work conditions, such as anodization. The pressure-sensitive silicone adhesive performs under a broad range of temperatures ranging from 60°F ( 50°C) to 400°F (204°C).

What is the difference between the masking tape and duct tape?

Masking tape is for protecting and blocking off areas when painting and decorating, usually made of a thin and easy to tear the paper. The adhesive should be fairly easy to remove from most surfaces without leaving any damage or residue. The backing should also be thin and easily conform to uneven surfaces and shapes. Duct tape is for sealing air ducts and often coated with polyethene and is very strong, flexible and water-resistant.
