TE Connectivity FASTON 187 Ultra-Fast Plus Crimp Terminals
FASTON 187 series Ultra-Fast Plus fully insulated tab and receptacle crimp terminals designed to prevent electrical shock and shorting hazards from exposed leads. When the tab and receptacle are mated, they are fully encapsulated by the housing. The tin plated copper alloy FASTON tab and receptacle contacts are recessed within the housing to allow terminal to be used in 600 V applications. The receptacle, tab and wire barrel part of the housing is made from type 6/6 nylon. The insulation barrel is made from premium grade nylon with minimum spring-back which retains the insulation crimp shape and provides strain relief in high vibration environments. These FASTON 187 Ultra-fast plus insulated terminals terminate 22 AWG to 14 AWG solid, fused and stranded wire with the wire and tab size designation indicated on the housings. The nylon housings are translucent enabling visual inspection of the termination. A funnelled wire entry prevents turned back wire strands and allows fast wire insertion during high-speed production. Slots in the receptacle housing membrane enable shouldered tab styles to be accommodated. The inner housing, two-stage roll configuration and cantilever mounted dimple on the receptacle terminal provide positive entry and lead-in of the mating tab contact even in blind mating locations.
Features and Benefits
Fully insulated for protection against electrical shock and short hazards
Full encapsulation of tab and receptacle when mated
Designed for correct lead-in of tab
Funnel wire entry for easy wire insertion
Wire and tab size designation on housing
Clear nylon enables visual inspection
Wide range of tab styles accepted
