Pmod HAT Adapter for Raspberry Pi

The Pmod HAT Adapter from DesignSpark is an add-on board which enables you to connect Digilent Pmod modules to your Raspberry Pi board. The adapter is a plug-and-play module, meaning once you have plugged it into your Raspberry Pi computer, you are ready to go. You can add up to 3 Pmod modules at once.
The Pmod HAT Adapter has been designed with DesignSpark at RS Components. The DesignSpark community is full of examples of Python libraries and tutorials. Therefore there is plenty of resources to get you started with the Pmod HAT Adapter. You can find these at: https://www.rs-online.com/designspark

What's on-board?

Power: Jack connector
Pmod Connection: Three 2x6 ports for Pmod modules
Supports: SPI, UART, I2C, and GPIO connections.

Which Raspberry Pi Boards are Compatible?

The DesignSpark Pmod HAT Adapter is compatible with Raspberry Pi boards with a 40-pin GPIO connector. This includes:
Raspberry Pi Model A+
Raspberry Pi Model B+
Raspberry Pi 2 Model B
Raspberry Pi 3 Model B
Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+

What are Pmod modules?
Pmod's are a range of interface boards from Digilent. These expansion boards enable you to add functionality such as switches, GPS, keypads, displays and much more. There are loads of Pmods to choose from.

What is a HAT adapter?
HAT is the name given to Raspberry Pi add-on boards which sit directly on top of the board. This particular board is an adapter which connects to the Pi board's GPIO connector, like the Pi HAT modules, and provides you with access to the Digilent Pmod peripheral modules.

How is it powered?
The Pmod Adapter board can be powered either through the Raspberry Pi (through the 5V pins in the GPIO connector) or it can be powered by a 5V power jack (1.3A).

How is it programmed?
The DesignSpark Pmod adapter board enables you to control the Pmod modules using Python programming language. Please refer to the Reference Manual for links to the relevant software and downloads.
